This summer has a lot of new movies premiering! There are many great movies for kids and adults to watch, such as Captain Underpants, Cars 3, Despicable Me 3, The Emoji Movie, Spiderman: Homecoming, and Wonder Woman..

Captain Underpants is the first movie in its series based on a book by Dav Pikely, and the movie is made by DreamWorks animation.

Cars 3 is the third movie in its franchise and is about veteran racer Lightning McQueen as he tries to continue doing the things he loves at an old age.

“I want to see Cars 3 because I watched the other cars movies as a little kid,” said Thomas Fleming, a student in Mrs. Emily Mohan’s sixth grade class.

Despicable Me 3, made by Illumination, is about the lovable character Gru meeting up with his twin brother whom he hasn’t seen in years as his brother, Dru, tries to lead him back down the path of crime.

“I am excited for Despicable Me 3 because I like the other movies in the series,” remarked Jamie Ruddle in Mrs. Mohan’s class.

The Emoji Movie, by Sony Pictures Animation, is about the emoji meh and how he needs to try and fit in. He doesn’t want to be the emoji he is.

“I am excited for The Emoji Movie because it looks corny and cringy, and I like that kind of stuff,” said fifth grader Lily Grochowiak of Ms. Lauren Logan’s class.

Spiderman: Homecoming, the first movie in its new franchise made by Marvel, is about young Peter Parker, also known as Spiderman. He struggles to be treated like the true hero he knows he is and tries to prove himself to the world.

“I’m excited for Spiderman: Homecoming because it looks funny,” said Max Colucci of Ms. Lauren Logan class.

Wonder Woman, made by DC, is about a warrior princess who tries to help America fight in the war in the 1920s.

Your Name. is an anime movie about a teenage boy and girl who try to meet each other for the first time. There are many new movies coming out this summer and movies will be a hot topic this summer.
