The 2017 World Series took place from October 24 to November 1. The two contenders for the World Series Title were the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Houston Astros.

This World Series broke many records, such as most home runs hit and strike-outs. When the Astros won Game 7 in L.A., it was the first time an away team won the elimination game. The Finals MVP was George Springer of the Houston Astros.

Connor Zielinski from Mr. Mariano’s seventh grade class said, “I was very happy when the Astros won.”

Conor Buechs, also from Mr. Mariano’s class, said, “My favorite game was Game 5 because it went into extra innings, and the Astros won.”

This was the very first championship title for the entire franchise of the Houston Astros since 1962 when they were founded. If the Dodgers had won, it would have been their seventh title, but they failed to capture it and are still on the hunt for a title since 1988.
